What to Expect

Since launching in September 2025, these intensives have evolved into a focused training space built for long-term growth — not quick results.

Sacred Movement Intensives are small, intentional training containers where dancers develop strong technical foundations, body awareness, and disciplined habits that support sustainable progress.
Each edition explores a different style and experience level — creating space to challenge yourself, expand your range, and continue evolving over time.

Small group sizes allow for detailed, real-time feedback and the space to refine your movement with precision, awareness, and intention.

❋ Focused Group Training

We train from the ground up — prioritizing technique, musicality, and control — so progress is built properly, not rushed.

❋ Intentional Structure

A supportive, judgment-free environment where you can explore, take risks, and fully show up in your process.

❋ Safety in Expression

You’ll leave with professional documentation of both your training process and final performance — included.

❋ Photography & Videography

Each intensive is designed for a specific experience level — creating space for committed beginners and intermediate dancers who are ready to put the work in.

This is for those who want to refine their technique, explore their creative voice, and commit to a process that builds real, lasting progress.

It’s a space to be supported in your training, take care of your body, and build a deeper relationship with dance as an art form.

Who is this for?

Each intensive follows a clear 3-day structure.

We start with foundations and conditioning — building strength, control, and clean technique. From there, we move into drills and combinations, before working on choreography to apply what you’ve learned.

Each month has a different genre and experience level, keeping the training specific to the group.

Some intensives, like our upcoming Art Project, are more performance-based — with a stronger focus on choreography, direction, and group synchronization.

the process

community

Train alongside a consistent group of dancers who are committed to showing up.

Friendships built through a shared passion are like no other — creating a space where people connect, support each other, and grow together.

creative expression

This is a space to explore your movement, not just copy it.

You’ll develop your own quality, musicality, and presence — becoming moving art, not just performing steps.

growth

Build the mind as well as the body.

Develop discipline, focus, and a healthy relationship with progress — prioritizing sustainable improvement that carries beyond the studio.

Yasmeen Maldonado

About the instructor

Yasmeen Maldonado is a multidisciplinary dancer, aerialist, and choreographer whose work blends classical technique with contemporary and sensual movement.

Based in Bali, she performs with Drip Productions, La Joia Cabaret, and RévARTE Entertainment, while teaching heels and movement artistry at Drip Studio.

Her approach to training is clear and detail-oriented — breaking down technique in a way that helps dancers feel capable, supported, and in control of their movement.

She focuses on building strong foundations that last, while encouraging dancers to develop their own style, presence, and artistic identity beyond choreography.

What dancers say about the intensives

  • Marloes, student

I’ve really enjoyed the intense dance course. It has been quite a big challenge for me, both physically and in terms of stepping out of my comfort zone, but in such a positive way. I actually joined your class because some friends of mine recommended you, and I’m really glad I listened to them. You are incredibly kind and welcoming, and you create such a safe and comfortable space to learn.

As someone with very little dance experience, that means a lot to me. I find you very inspiring, not only because you dance so beautifully, but also because of the way you teach. You take the time to repeat movements as often as needed and encourage questions, which makes the whole learning process feel relaxed and accessible. I also really appreciate how you adapt movements to each person’s body when needed; it shows how attentive and thoughtful you are.

Your choreography feels elegant and flows so naturally. Since this is my first real experience with dance, I don’t feel in a position to give constructive feedback, but from my perspective, everything feels very positive and well balanced. Thank you for your time, your energy, and your warmth - it truly makes a difference.

  • Sarah Bouderka, Student

I did two 3-day intensives with Yasmeen and I honestly loved them. The amount of growth you get in just three days is crazy. The training is very technical on the first day, which really helps you level up, but what I liked the most was the one on one feedback she gives. Her corrections are super clear and always useful.

I also really appreciate how she adapts the intensive to every level even in an open-level intensive, if you’re advanced, you still evolve and get challenged. On top of that, we have so much fun, which makes the whole experience even better. The girls are always super nice too I already miss it.

  • Aziza Smith, Student

You know this already, but you're one of my favorite teachers in bali. Your ability to help students understand choreo from both musicality and counts, how detailed you are with explaining movement, being able to break things down to the simplest forms. Every class feels clear and easy to keep up with.

  • Catherine Pollock, Student

I am beyond grateful to learn dance from Yasmeen. Her ability to break down intricate, creative choreography into comprehensible segments is incredible. Once we break down the movements, she guides us through seamlessly weaving them together into gorgeous performances. Plus, she has everything I look for in a teacher: she is patient, inclusive, and encouraging. I always leave her classes and intensives feeling inspired to continue on my dance journey.

  • Emily Wong, student

Amazing I love this class. As a beginner I got to learn so much of the foundations that I usually didn’t have time to in class. Yasmeen makes it so beginner friendly and most importantly she reminded me of how dance is a relationship with ourselves. Very grateful for her and her classes

Intensive FAQs

  • Each intensive is designed for a specific level. Some are open level, while others are tailored for beginners or intermediate dancers. The focus is on commitment and willingness to learn, not perfection.

  • Yes. A photographer will be documenting behind-the-scenes moments throughout all three days. These photos will be shared with everyone after the intensive comes to a close.

On Day 3, there will be a professional dance videographer for our final performances. Participation in filming is not required, but dancers are encouraged to take part as a way to document their hard work.

If at any point you feel uncomfortable being photographed or filmed, please let me know and I will ensure your boundaries are respected.

  • That’s completely normal. Most dancers feel this way coming in. The space is focused but supportive — you’ll be guided clearly, pushed where needed, and given the room to grow at your own pace.
