  • What dancers have to say about the experience

Having taken Yasmeen’s regular classes, this workshop clearly reflected the teaching approach I have always appreciated in her work. Yasmeen has an incredibly sharp eye for detail, and the way she explains movement is precise and deeply embodied. Her corrections are always clear and specific, grounded in how the body actually works rather than how it simply appears.

She attentively observes each student, quickly catching even subtle gaps in execution and offering thoughtful, individualized guidance. This same clarity and care were extended and deepened throughout the three-day workshop. It was evident that the workshop was carefully planned and thoughtfully directed, with a great deal of experimentation and intention behind every decision. Rather than simply learning choreography, the experience felt like going through the process of building a piece together as a team. Exploring ideas collectively, adjusting positions, refining timing, and discovering what worked best in real time made the process fresh, engaging, and meaningful.

On the final day, after filming, Yasmeen surprised everyone by preparing flowers and handing one to each student. Such a simple gesture, yet incredibly moving—thoughtful, warm, and full of care. It beautifully reflected the sensitivity, dedication, and heart that define both this workshop and Yasmeen as an artist and teacher.

  • Roxanne, Student

Yasmeen is an extraordinary teacher …creative, deeply musical, and technically precise, with an intuitive approach that makes learning choreography feel like making art, not just memorizing steps. Her musicality invites you to listen with your whole body, and she has a rare ability to encourage dancers to try complex movements while guiding them to feel accessible and expressive at the same time.

Through her classes and intensives, I’ve connected more deeply with my body while developing stronger technique in a way that feels grounding and liberating. Yas encourages beautiful lines, clarity, and individuality—supporting each dancer in discovering what works for their own expression.

I’ve taken many workshops with her, and every experience has made me a better dancer and deepened my appreciation for the artistry and dedication of this profession. She’s a rare gem, and I can’t recommend her enough!

  • Kata Gero, student

Oh where should I begin… do you know the feeling when you step inside a new dance studio and feel nervous about it? Yas would be that girl who’d instantly make you feel comfortable. She has that rare gift of beautiful, creative energy - mixed with incredible talent. She makes everyone feel welcome, encourages us to ask questions, feel no shame about anything… her classes are structured starting with a juicy warmup, then for the choreo part she explains things down to the smallest detail.

Every time I take one of her classes, I fall in love with the routine and choice of song… She was born to do this and I’m just happy to be able to learn from her!❤️
